My New Year’s Resolution was to post new music or photography every Thursday of 2015, which I started on Thursday January 1st (The day after my birthday). So far this year as I’ve been traveling, moving cities, and getting into trouble in various ways, this has been fairly successful at allowing me to document life as I give myself a start fresh this year.
To take a peak at where I am this week, hear the song that has been this week’s soundtrack, and see the some of the people and places that I treasure the most today, check out the New Year’s Resolution Thursday videos here.
The People and Work that inspire me.
The Eames Office
The design office of Charles and Ray Eames embodied what it meant to be true problem solvers and communicators. Headed by an architecture school drop-out and a painter, the multidisciplinary design firm made major contributions to architecture, design, and changed the way businesses connect with people.
The firm demonstrated that expressive forms of communication, agnostic of any particular medium, had a place in both business and creative arts settings. And, more often than not, they fused the two circumstances of business and art to be one and the same.
Commissioned by IBM, this film (despite their firm being architecture-based) was one of their greatest works. They took this concept from beyond the day-to-day human experience, and made it beautifully relatable by communicating it at a human scale.
